Nuked Areas?

Postby Girlinhat » Sat Jul 16, 2011 10:41 pm

So I found myself on the algeralith map, and luckily there's sand nearby which we need. We set off in that direction, only to find that there was an invisible barrier in the way, and runestones along the area claim that it's nuked. Is this where Loftar nuked a hearth vault? Is there any way to deal with this, it covers a HUGE area and kinda blocks a resource from us...

Nope. It's a bit of the world that fell down the back of the sofa or something, never to be seen again, when the server melted a few weeks ago. There's a thread about it (them) in Announcements, here, have a link.

Ah, thank you for that more descriptive response, at least. Looks like with that (a lot of chunks of earth missing) w5 might be coming to an end sooner rather than later. At least, one would hope they're trying to stabilize servers and then spawn a new world...

Be happy that it just blocks you from one resource - others lost their villages and soil, clay, water and sand spots... ;)

...Runestones don't have enough space to explain exactly but i see it was good to set some up :D

and nope no fast ending of this world

Don't count on it. It's a very, very small part of the overall world. The only reason they started w5 was because bots had ran so far ahead of anyone else and Loftar released a major new mechanic. The end of w3 was a cataclysmic failure in the database that couldn't be rebuilt. This can at least be partitioned off until fixed.

I thought it was the other way around? 3 to 4 was the new LP system, and 4 to 5 was the kabababoom?

Only like 2% of the world is nuked, Jorbtar might figure out how to generate a few chunks to replace the old map, but it doesn't really matter that much.
