Why can't I Quell The Beast?

My advantage is full (Sidestep has no effect).
I've used Consume the Flames, twice, in a row. (Enders however, displays 0 with a "5" underneath it, in the Battle Intensity?)
I have 8 Initiative VS the Auroch in question.

When I go to click with Quell the Beast on the Auroch, nothing happens.

Oddly, the first time around, it worked fine. I've got 20 Tame points against it so far.

Edit: Also, I think the "5" is your combat advantage.

I don't think so. I used Sting Like a Bee at one point, but I saw no damage. Other than that, I followed the guide. (Sting like a Bee, on Potjeh's comment on the Guide).

You might need to move a few pixels to the characters left (west). Sometimes you can do combat moves, but can't actually get in to perform the Quell.

There are some other bugs with it still other than damaging the animal. My mind is all fuzzy, though, so if someone else doesn't post some ideas, I'll try to toss a few more up later.

I'm afraid the paranoia got the better of me. I decided to kill them all, rather than waiting for another answer, before somebody came along and popped a hole in my fence.

I think your problem might be that after you quell'd the beast on the first go, you attacked him in some way to get aggro to quell it again. However, you can not do this, and attempting to do this will reset the animal back to 0 tameness and will not allow you to use quell for a few minutes. What you are supposed to do after quelling for the first 20 tameness is wait for it to re-aggro you (yes he will do this all on his own) which could take 5-20 minutes. However this could not be the case but it probably is unless you prove otherwise
