farming?

okay so i got some seeds and planted them. I am just wondering if i need to water them or anything like that? or is it just a plant and wait?

Just plant and wait. Pretty simple.

Slightly expanded: use beehives when you can make them, they increase growth greatly. But it is that simple, you plant and leave.

Personally, I do 4x4 plots, because this is a square and it fits all the seeds inside a cupboard easily for sorting. True, could use 4x5, but I like the square...

okay. thanks. and is their a way for me to retreive seeds before they are done? cause i was thinking about moving my area closer to water and have most of my important stuff that i can carry and am gunna set my hearth fire. im horrible at navigating so im bringing the important stuff i have and the stuff i can build i will build. mostly i have rabbit furs a sheep fur and some tools so i dont have to build some. like the bone saw and ect like that. im just pretty much waiting on getting my seeds to start getting somewere with it. is their any tips i can get for navigating with the map at all?

Nope, you just have to wait to harvest to get new seeds.

is their places were you can get/find more seeds? cause i only have hemp and flax growing right now and i stubmbled across a place that had them. i harvested 1 of each plant that was their just flax and hemp. it wasnt owned by anyone it was just their.

Wild Windsown Weeds which you can find with 6+ exploration. You can then put them on an herbalists table or on a drying rack and they'll be turned into mostly random seeds, with some dependence on your area. Collecting WWWs from a wide range of areas ensures variety.

You may not want to build on the river's edge. That tends to make you very visible. If you're an Ender's screen-width away from shore, then no casual explorers are going to notice you quickly, or if they do, they'll probably ignore you. If you're on the river's edge, then every wahoo with a boat will know about you, and that's not a very good thing...

its not directly next to the water. but its close towards it. and i know i just had someone come give me a whole deer all he wanted was the antlers.
