Barter stands?

I have seen barter stands that require 60 of an object to gain a trade. My ignorant newb could be showing, but the highest inventory I thought you could get was 56. My question is, then, how do you trade for more inventory space then you have? Alternately, is this just a way to make something available to people with permissions without actually selling it? I checked the wiki and searched the forums, but I was not able to find more detailed information.

You're right. A backpack, two q20+ traveler's sacks, and a merchant robe only comes to 56. No idea why someone is posting a trade for 60 of an item. (Typical quantities are 48 or less, often 24 or less because most people using a barter stand are going to be local hermits and newbies.) You may be right that the owner may be leaving the items for an alt or villager to get for discovery.
