After someone dies does the claim remain up or does it go away, or is there something that is supposed to be done until the claim can canceled?

Claims persist after death. Only it's owner can remove it, or lawspeaker of a village, if the village controls the area with this claim. But it costs 250 authority per tile to remove claim this way.
