cant craft palisade?

EDIT: nvm, i actually had to craft a few of the materials myself to unlock it.

Are you sure you obtained the necessary materials in a manner that would trigger the discovery mechanism? I.e. : did you make the hardened leather from scratch, or did another character make it and you just merely took it from the box he put it in?
