Finding Rabbits?

Postby KaneBates » Thu Aug 04, 2011 2:01 pm

Hello, I've been playing since last night, and to get any further I think I need bone. However I havent seen 1 Rabbit, I've seen Toads and ants before but never rabbits, any idea where to find them.
What are Toads useful for anyway?

Also Im using Enders. :)

toads are useless, but sometimes you find shocked frog among them.

Rabbits can be found in any forest, you just have to keep looking

apples, hazelnuts, mulberries, spindly taproots at first.
When you increase eploration a bit then also blueberries and chantrelles.

Also, fishing may be good if you have time.

Try wondering around and find apples and nuts. While wondering around you will find rabbits... also look for blueberries.

You can try fishing too when you gather some LP's.

When you increase exploration to 8-10 you'll start finding Wild Windsown Weed. If you dry it you'll get some seeds. Then you can start farming... :)

Okay, so In what kind of regions will I find thease, because I spawned in some Kind of swap, where leeches kept jumping on me, which apparently heals you? At the moment I'm wondering around a area with lots of evergreen trees, with a brown floor tile. Is it a good place to find stuff like rabbits and the food you mentioned. Also, after I have explored and found the basic stuff, is the only way to get Lp through Studying, as I have a cow on at the moment.

You should keep looking in a forest. It's a greenish-brown terrain with many trees. Keep away from swamps for now - they are not really useful for you, unless you can catch dragonflies. And leeches will hurt your soft hit points, but heal your hard hit points. I would expect your hard points are full now, and healing soft points makes you more hungry.

As for LP - after you discover basic stuff curiosities are indeed the only way of gaining LP. Some curiosities can simply be found / foraged. For a starting player following should be available: dragonflies in swamps, dandelions (yellow flowers) in forests / grasslands / moor / heath, ladubugs (reddish flying bugs).

A watched pot never boils.

The best way to look for rabbits is... not to look for rabbits.
Just forget about them and get on with everything else you need to do.

Keep Enders zoomed out and carry on with all your other tasks.
Go for long foraging expeditions and salvage missions, never ever even thinking about rabbits.

The gods are capricious and as long as you are looking for rabbits none shall be forthcoming.
But I promise you, the second you forget all about rabbits... You'll see one scamper across the screen.

As soon as you catch your first one they will become prolific and start showing up all the time.

I don't know why exactly... something to do with quantum physics I suppose.
