Coordinates and Maps

What's a good way to find out what your coords are? I'm a newb and have a bear in the forest right next to me. Me and my alt are cowering in our beds XD I tried looking at the World 5 map, but it's just so... BIG! ._. Any tips?

Explore a lot and use the auto mapping feature in Ender's client to get an idea of your area. Use distinct features such as mountains, lakes, rivers, and settlements to help get an idea of unique things to keep an eye out for. Scan the W5 map for as long as it takes, methodically looking for those features.

Or

Ask someone in your area and see if they know.

1. I use the normal client, though I'm going to probably get Enders now, of course :P

2.There are a couple of people in my area, but are never on at the same time as me

Definitely use ender's client. It permits resizing of the client, full screen, transparency, lighting control, auto-mapping, and countless other invaluable resources. If you want to stay competitive with other players you Need these features.

Go to their house while they are asleep, and place a rune stone in front of their house saying

"hey whats our map cords- Your neighbor"

Yes you can use your original characters, the account is the same.
I apologize but please take your questions and problems with the client to the Wizard's Tower. There are troubleshooting flowcharts and lots of advice to assist you there.
