Becoming a hunter.

Postby senk » Mon Aug 08, 2011 11:04 pm

Hello. I would like to become a hunter and need someone to guide me through learning. I've played on another character but got pissed off because of lack of bones.

If you get pissed off just because you can't find bones, I suggest you quit now.

there are no pvp tutorials fool

wat u mean is go read the stickied 'combat guide' thread which pretty much explains how to kill each animal

one thing i wished ppl would have stressed to me as soon as i started is how 20 mm and sling means you can sail around and kill just about anything, I killed bear yesterday with 20mm, i did have to get off and finish it with ua but it was bugged or something which meant it didn't attack me o.0

get a good sling asap and like 20mm (5mm can do it but 20 is just quicker)

The bug is that it is has surrendered to you (olive branch in the top right corner instead of a sword) and therefore will not attack you anymore. However, once it leaves your screen it repaths and reaggros on you, running back up to you to fight. Even though it wants to fight now though, it still has surrendered and thus can only sit there as you wail on it.

Deer, Foxes, and Boar have similar behavior but only when a Deer heals them, running off screen will not cause them to repath for whatever reason.

Auroch and Mouflon will never run away.

Dataslycer's guide is a combat guide, and as much a PvP guide as how to kill animals. Maybe you're the one that hasn't read it.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

I don't think it is a guide more as it is general tutorial on how to use the combat system as the system itself requires a lot more than intuition within a risky world.
