fighting

hey i just got militia training and the axe attacks and i have my stone axe equipped but when ever i would try using the attacks it would not use it ? and also about fighting animals what sort of gear should i go for before fighting boars or anything bigger ?

you should learn how to fight, before you fight a fox even.
Practice on ants, and if you can kill some foxes without taking damage then try a boar (close to water)

what do you mean by learn to fight? and in get the required skills ? need a bit more of a explanation please

Combat is complex and multi-dimensional in HnH. You need initiative points in order to use attacks such as Chop.
Please review DataSlycer's guide: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6518
It will explain things such as initiative points, how to get them, attack, defense, and combat with animals.

Please don't apologize for asking questions. That's specifically what this subforum is for and legitimate questions are always welcomed. We all have things to learn after all. Especially on combat.
