Soft caps

Trying for a better bear cape currently, the formula confuses me though.

How do soft caps work exactly? specifically the bear cape formula posted on RoB.

So work out 2-3 equations
(Skin quality * average of the teeth quality)/2 = X
Cube root of Psy*Dex*Sewing = Y
If Y is greater than X, then quality is X
If X is greater than Y, then (X+Y)/2 is the quality

the bear cape in wiki is missing the soft cap formula. Thanks for this one :D

If Y is greater than X, then quality is X
If X is greater than Y, then (X+Y)/2 is the quality

I've no idea how to edit a wiki article with formulas, but if someone knows how that'd be great if they could add it. :D
