Trolls behavior

Postby BruThoL » Fri Aug 12, 2011 6:12 pm

Yup.

Not using an alt to mine, so i'm kinda worrying about dying to a troll (yes even if it's rare, i'm not a lucky guy).

So, how does it happen?
Someone mine, and suddenly a troll spawn when the ore tile disappear that's it?
Does it attack you very fast or would you have the time to port to hf/vidol?

I think if I'm doing nothing, a bear would kill me in 30/40s, is it enough to last 10s on a troll?
What are their moves? how much damage do they deal?
Has someone ever killed a troll in 1v1 melee fight?

Any information would be welcome!

From what i've heard, like bears, they will use an ability that gives them IP first before attacking. I believe (not completely sure) that they run at around the 3rd speed and cannot fit through a 1x1 tile. It's probably in ur best interest to let it swing once and then keep running. I've never encountered a troll personally, just what i've heard. Hope it helps.

Also, how strong do they hit?
I've around 100 uac, would they deplete my def bar in one hit?

It depends upon which level you find them on. But my guess would be yes they will deplete your defense in 1 hit.

From my own experience, the combat skill is vastly different from each level interval of the trolls. I had gathered sources that even zig zag isn't even safe as the troll may destroy wall tiles to make room for itself. Combined that zig zags are notoriously hard to navigate and anyone that cannot face a troll up close is more likely going to die.
If you keep focusing on the shadow behind, you will not see the light in front of you.

Being successful isn't just about hard work and succeeding, it is also about picking yourself up when you fail.
