Damned bone clay

Ok so I pick cave clay, I make bone ash, I find Feldspar... I cook every type of clay in kiln...I re pick and re kiln and keep trying everything that I can think of and yet...no bone clay...

it must be something really stupid that I'm missing, Before you ask, I have discovered all ingredients... I did them all yesterday again to be sure... so any ideas guys?

Yesterday I even pulled a porcelain plate from the kiln... I got LP but no new discovery... do I just need to do this with a bone clay brick?

how/who did make that plate?
Its made of bone clay so far as I know .

another villager crafted the plate...i just pulled from kiln... yet it didn't unlock porcelain plate in my crafting ability...

There would seem to be only two possibilities... have YOU actually discovered bones, and do you have the pottery skill?
Other than that I'm stumped sorry.

yup... got bones and pottery long ago... I make pots and hunt regularly... thanks though!

Ill try to take bone clay from a kiln then...if not a barter stand...

Can't take bone clay from a kiln. You only get white bricks from a kiln. If you've discovered the bone ash, feldspar, and cave clay, you should have the recipe. Use the barter stand if you've got it. Saves some effort, however, you still won't have the bone clay recipe, just the porcelain plate and doll.

It won't. You get the discovery for some finished items even though it doesn't unlock anything.
