- What's the best way to keep my important items safe early on?
- In this regard I am holding a large variety of seeds I found from a relatively large unclaimed and seemingly abandoned farm, I don't like the thought of leaving all of these wonderful seeds in a crate and hoping they are there when I wake up.
- The real question behind this is whether or not I can leave these valuable seeds in my inventory and log-off and can I expect them to be there when I log back in?
- Answers:
- Place items on an alternate character and keep them logged off
- Place the items in your mains inventory and log-out your items and character will be safe while logged out
- Place items in a container and place the container in a lean-to then sleep in it. This will cause a new thief to at least a scent which can be tracked back to them
- What's the best way to use curio? What's the best way to consistently get or at least stock those curio that answered the first question?
- Answer: Use as many different curio as you can find or make that fit in your study area up to your mental cap at all times. The actual curio to place on those squares varies based on what you have found and what your LP is. For the new players (myself included) I have found making a stockpile of Cow Cone a must. Other than that work towards Bark Boats if you have at least 1 Birch tree nearby you. Straw Dolls are also easy to make once you get Wheat going. Once you get a bone supply built up (I consider a chicken coop a reliable source of bone) you can make more use of Feather Dusters, Primitive Dolls, and Sand Castles
- With LP gain from farming gone (which was awesome once I got going in World 4) I am planning to focus on the building of a crop quality. The problem I am looking at is in relation to gaining LP to increase my skill values, this is mostly an afterthought that I will apply to the answers of my curio question. What are other farmer types doing for this?
- Answer: I'm noticing and re-assured with the posts below that LP does seem to kick off and increase from there. I do agree as well that the more you know about HnH the faster you gain the essential early LP.
- What is the best way to orient myself in the world (don't say walk around / explore) in a big picture way. What I'm after is making sure of where I am now and what dangers I may be exposed to or where I may be interested in traveling to in regards to setting up a better camp. I'm thinking of using the World 5 World Map posted in the forums. I have 0 interest scanning through the world tile by tile to find a small area that I have explored.
- Question brought up while pondering this. How does the world map software work, is it simply looking at the edges of images? I looked at map.html but it seems dependent on the naming (numbering) of the .png files.
- How do people actually trade goods? Do people actually walk / boat / whatever for several hours to go between villages / towns / other ppls claims? In my case this is really not easily possible since exploring constitutes walking around hoping I can remember how to get back to my "home" area.
