I have a newb question..i could find out for myself but knowing its real hard to bring down brick walls...but be better off asking.

1.Do we make 2 initial post to make the gate?
OR
2.Do I make just another corner post to connect to the initial post and make the gate
OR
3. Do i have make a wall and then make the gate.

I just need this sure so i wont mess up my newb brickwall.

It's just like working with a palisade or a roundpole fence. Are you familiar with working with either of those?

with the palisade..what i did was make 2 initial posts to make the gate...it was a pain...but if i do the same thing with the brickwall..it is ok...but hopefully..there is another method that still works the same.,..getting a gate.

so..does no. 3 works?

You can just make a giant square and expand cornerposts rather than building a second one. If that's what #3 means then yes.

I'm having a lot of trouble understanding what you mean, I apologize. I'll just explain the full process.

To make a gate you need 2 cornerposts exactly 2 tiles from eachother. It doesn't matter if they're built from scratch or expanded. It does not work if they're 2.1 tiles from eachother or 1.9 tiles from eachother. You need to pave the 2 tiles infront of and behind the area you're planning to build the gate as well. Even if one of the cornerposts is sealed you can build the gate as long as the second one is not.

Didn't this get changed so you only need one side paved, or am I just smoking some bad juju? (I can never remember which side as it's just as easy to pave the front and back.)

Did it get changed? I'll be honest and say that I've never tried to just pave one side.

When building palisade gate I have never paved any side of the gate, only the 2 tiles that the gate was on.
