As long as you inherit, you'll spawn where your HF was. As far as getting your items back, you only have a limited time before the body decays to a skeleton and dumps everything to the ground. I won't even fathom a guess on the exact time. I can never recall what others have reported, either.

As far as the village goes, if you spawn on your own claim, you should be able to do things normally. If you don't have a personal claim, you'll be able to move around, but nothing else. You will need to get an invite back into the village. If you were a hermit village, you'll need to get LS and wait for the Auth to dwindle to under 50k. (Takes about 10 days if I recall right. Good reason to make a LS alt.)
