Combat?

Here is something I cannot find an answer to anywhere...
How do I initiate combat? I have the skill Unarmed Combat and Punch, but I can't initiate combat with anything. I walk up to them and use Punch, but nothing happens.

Are you trying to initiate with other players? If so you need rage. To initiate combat on an animal you need hunting. Animals are pretty tough though and you should probably dataslycers combat guide before trying it.
