Why can't I build a home..?

So, I'm relatively new to the game, and I'm confused when it comes to building a house. Perhaps the answer's obvious, and if it is, sorry for wasting your time, but I can't build a Log Cabin. Looking at the wiki, it says I only need Carpentry, but I have carpentry and no results. I've laid down a 5x5 area of stone, but still nothing.
My skills are:
Carpentry
Farming
Fishing
Foraging
Hearth Magic
Hunting
Lumberjacking
Plant Lore
The Will to Power
and all the standard ones you begin with. Do I have to upgrade Carpentry? Thanks for any help though.
