hello I´m new in this game!
my problem is that i can not craft a torch.

You probably don't have the recipe:
-to do it you must "discover" the items required - harvest the branch from tree and manufacture linen cloth.
I also recommend you to create additional characters to provide you torches since linen cloth might be too valuable for you.
To do so create yourself an Hearth Secret (heart menu), then when creating new character go to the shady dude in the upper screen(noth-west) part of the room and type it so the new character's hearthfire will be near your's.
And yup this is allowed. Notabane that 90% of people on the server use the other trick with tanning that allowes them to speed up the process by 7 hours and 20 minutes, so don't worry. Just don't do heavy hacks and you won't get banned.

You need to have discovered linen to make a torch. You can make linen by finding wild windsown weeds and hanging them on a drying rack, and hoping it becomes a flax or hemp seed. After this, you'll want to plant the seed and wait for it to grow. When you harvest the flax or hemp a plant fiber will be dropped on the ground.
You can turn 5 plant fibers into a piece of linen.
The easier route is probably to find someone to trade for some flax or linen. (btw, u dont normally need torches if you download enders client, however the authenticating server is down so thats not really easy to do =\ )

Torches are only really necessary if you find an unclaimed mine hole or cave (unlikely, but not impossible, I've found a couple of MH and one cave - didn't have a torch on me though and forgot how to get to it, lol!)
