Determining strength requirements for mining...

Postby Jeebus » Tue Sep 06, 2011 11:41 pm

I was wondering what the base strength one would need to mine on each level is, because I have easily mined on Level 2 with 115 strength, but I jump down to Level 3 and it says it is well beyond my level of strength to chip. I was hoping to find values (or an equation, at least) for what one needs to mine on each level. Maybe if someone knows this, we can add it to the wiki.

Hardness comes in nodes, just like everything else. So there are places on level one where I can mine easily, and places where I can't mine at all. I don't think there *is* a base for each level.

you need a specific sqrt(strength*tool_quality).
base values for each level exists, 20 for level 1, 40 for level 2, etc.

So 60 for level 3 or 80? You can't determine a pattern with only 2 numbers...

between 60 and 80 - surely 60

but it's base value only, hardness nodes will increase it

i don't know the whole pattern, but digged once with value 120 at level 5.
