Silver for the ferryman

In what circumstances will it save you from drowning?
I always have 1 on when I go foraging by boat, but I want to know how much it will actually protect me.

Only trying to swim across a river and drowning, then returns you to shore where you went in?
Or does it also include broken boat? Return you to where last touched ground, or where boat broke? (Would be rather pointless..)
Does aggro effect it saving you? If I don't get a good answer I may just test it with an alt, lol.. As wasteful as that is.

It will save u from drowning under any circumstance.

What happens if the spot u entered the river is in the middle (ie, broken boat)?

That's what worries me.. hopefully it will count as entering the river when you get in the boat, not when you leave it..
