So... Now what?

Postby SherRax » Sat Sep 10, 2011 5:33 pm

I've been hermiting for over a month now, and the life's got lonely. I'm a decent farmer, my land's walled off, I have hunting, I've staked my claim and I've got a good food income.
So, I was wondering, is a life of exploration, with your stuff stored in a wagon possible? I'm a bit of a people person and I want to explore, so I was just wondering whether it was possible/advisable.
It's much easier to hate than create.

Of course it is possible, and it is encouraged as well. The wagon trek thing, I meant

i love you (avatar)
anyway its more fun to be a nomad but you will prob get griefed and will not ever be able to "go into the next age"
but if you decide you want to forget the wagon take your most valuables in your inventory and destroy your hearth and hop all over the place

fair doos, I'm trying to think of a solution to the possibility of losing my wagon from griefing a lot, and apart from claiming stakes where ever I log off, I can't think of any. But yeah, when I'm officially bored out of my head I'll try the travelling life, thanks for your help :D

And Ryuk loves you too, teengames.<3

Become incredibly strong, and start bashing palisades for no reason. Leave runestones with random inspiring quotes on them at village gates.

You could probably hide ur wagon in land and most people wouldn't find it because like 85% of people ride around on boats =p

if you gain the trust of some villages you might be able to make a trade route or something similar between them.
otherwise you can hook up with some people you see.

if ure a people person....maybe join a village?

i did the hermit thing in world 4. it was fine, apart from being griefed before i had a palisade iw as pretty safe. but until i formed a friendship with the locals and people i met while hunting/foraging, it was boring as anything. i had too much leather, too much bone, too much food. i ended up sticking things outside my palisade for random people who pass by to take.

but without people its boring.

Being a nomad isn't all it's cracked up to be. Finding others to trade with is a huge pain and you can't carry enough to make sure you never need to return to a home base. The upside is that you don't have to worry too much about getting things stolen as you won't have much of anything to steal. You also don't need to worry about points in anything other than combat, survival, and exploration.
