Maybe a nub question... but ours are turning out a strange quality... i would have imagined they would have turned out much higher...

Does anyone know the forumula for determining the skins quality?

I apologize that I do not but can you maybe provide the quality of the materials you used and the stats/skills of the character that did the crafting?

I had the same problem at first, They've been a few threads like this but no one really came up with the answer.

I'm not sure on the formula, But from experience I think sewing and cooking effect the outcome. A lot of people said psyche, but when I tested it made no difference... Or maybe I'm wrong

Skin quality as in, the skin you get from skinning an animal? I believe it is determined by the quality of the tool you are using to skin the animal and your survival as well as the difference between all of that and the level of the animal you are skinning.

He means the item Goldbeater's Skin which is used to craft all Jewelry except for Bear tooth necklaces and spectacles.

Buh. Of course. I'm sorry it's late I don't know what I was thinking. Kindly disregard my earlier post.

Bumping this, as I would really like to know the answer as well... I cannot even figure out how the materials are weighted.

q34 intestines, q114 vinegar, q78 cauldron, q39 water ..... q59 skins

raising cooking from 1 to 10 made no difference

raising farming from 50 to 60 then made no difference

(this guy already has 100+ psy, dex, and 200 sewing)

this suggested that the weighting was (2*intestineQ+vinegarQ+cauldronQ+waterQ)/5

then using q108 intestines.... q101 skins (so the weighting above is wrong, apparently)

removing my thimbles so that I dropped to 88 dex and 177 sewing made no difference, still q101.

So... anyone got any idea whats going on? :)
