How Do I Build A Lean to...

I just started the game about 3 minutes ago..
I place the items on the ground? Doesnt work..
And there is no way to hold all the the needed Bough's in my inventory to make it...
So im lost, throw the noob a bone here..

You move the boughs from ur inventory into the building window for it. The sign will store any materials towards the building ur making

Shift-clicking the inventory items is faster.
To stop being pantsed, one must stop wearing pants.

And so is shift + scrollwheel (put the mouse over the picture in the sign. hold shift. scroll down.)

(also notable for cupboards and other containers, you always mouse over the container and scroll up or down to move things into or out of it).
