Game won't download

I'm new, and whenever I try to download the game, the progress bar goes up about 1/3rd of the way and freezes there.

Is it supposed to take a really long time to download or is it a bug or something?

It shouldn't take more than a few seconds to load the game up. Are you using the default launch client or a custom client? Is your java up to date?
You may want to take this problem to the Wizard's Tower if it's a custom client that's giving you issues.

no im downloading the default client, the one you automatically download when you click the "Play" button on the top of the home page of this website.

It will open up Java Oracle 7 and will say downloading, but the progress bar will only reach 1/3rd, and then stop.

It doesn't say its not responding, it just hangs there.

I tried it again, and it got to 2/3rd, but just hangs yet again.

Hard to say what the problem is without digging into things (of which I'm not an expert). Could be a server issue, could be your ISP, could be a ton of other things. Since nobody else suggested it, you might try running Ender's client found on the first post in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=27&t=14575
