Lagginess?

Postby fallingsnow » Sat Sep 17, 2011 11:00 pm

I picked up the game recently and started playing, but I seem to be having quite a problem. The game has been lagging tremendously. My character doesn't move to where I click for at least 15 seconds. Sometimes it seems that the game froze. My character freezes in a loop of moving from where I was to where I clicked. Clicking buttons also takes a while for the menus to pop up on the screen.

My question/problem is: Is the game always this laggy? My internet connection and computer are fine, but the game just doesn't seem to be running very well. Is there a way I can fix this? Thanks to anyone who can help.

(Also: It seems fine for the first minute or so I play, but then lag increases greatly.)

EDIT: The server "Ping-Timeouts" me sometimes. :/
I understand that the game is in alpha, but I was just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this or if I was having problems on my end.

I also noticed whenever a blue friday (blue moon ftw) or an immense day of lag appears the red mark in the map disappears l; I go insane when I don't know where I'm located in the map :P

The game isn't "not running very well", or "a bit laggy", it's fucking unplayable man.
Every not so no-life players are connecting to put some curios on, and leave.

You may have the answer : it's a game in an alpha stage.

Wait some days, maybe weak, and maybe it'll get fixed temporary.
10 months ago, playing was fun.
6 months ago, there was some lag, sometimes.
3 months ago, there was big lags, often.
Now, we can play, sometimes.

Man tomorrow HnH will be dead on the battle ground which opposed it to our beloved 3d f2p games.

I can't repeat this enough:

The weekend is the only time anyone gets to try to fix the server, so that's usually when you're going to see the most problems. The farther along Salem development goes, the less this is going to occur. Which, of course, means that we'll not even be getting hotfixes to problems.

I don't know the mind of Jorb or Loftar, but I'm making some assumptions based on what I'd do, which would be to try and keep HnH running as best as possible with the little time I have available. I'd also start getting a bit crazy as Salem development ramps up towards a finished product and need what few free hours there are to myself (probably to drink myself into a stupor).

I'm not sure how many of you realize this or not, but anyone working on code and IT systems for Salem are probably going to be hitting 80 hr+ weeks here in a couple of months if they aren't there already. Enjoy what time you have in the game and in the mean time find another fun f2p game or maybe play some other indie games like Unreal World or Dwarf Fortress.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.
