Learn skills and please read the combat guide.

You'll also need ~70 Unarmed or ~100 Melee Combat skill. Agility helps a lot. Armor is nice if you're planning on making mistakes. If you're unarmed then you'll be using your maneuvers a lot. I mean A lot. It's possible to do it with less UA and Melee if you're Really good but since you're inexperienced you probably want 10-20% more than that just for buffer.

Unless you're in the best village ever, you're not going to be meleing any boars anytime soon. Although living in good villages is nice, I prefer to make my own place with friends. That way when shit hits the fan, rome doesn't collapse, you and your friends just move somewhere else.

This has absolutely nothing to do with his dilemma. It doesn't take long to get to ~70 UA if you play fairly regularly and squeeze every drop out of your curiosities even if you're alone. The real issue is understanding the combat system as it's not just blindly clicking attack.

Given the relative newness of pretzelguy1 it's safe to assume that he has no idea how combat works. So what's most vital is reading the combat guides to gain a grasp of how the skills work and why.

For the first few times you fight a boar, you should probably have a boat nearby to escape. Just in case =p

Also just putting it out there, when it comes to boars or any animals for that matter that you know you aren't superior to, you should always keep the battle intensity low. When the intensity is high (Above 5? Need confirmation) They can use a move that gains them advantage, which you really don't want.

Good on you for wanting to try melee though. Its more fun than missile hunting, imo.

BTW make sure you do read those guides once you have ~70ua or so... because boars have some little tricks they like to play, like gaining advantage, which can screw you over at low stats, if you don't understand the combat system very well.

And yeah, keep a boat handy. Buy/make some bronze armour as well.

Probably get some more UA, then come back here once you can beat foxes and things, and you will be able to understand more tips that people give you :)

I wonder if I can convince the poor fellow to hunt bears and deer at 10 UA? It's not hard and is actually faster than hunting with a sling. No equipment required though you probably don't want to do it in heavy lagg (because you don't want to do Anything in heavy lagg regardless.)

Actually, guides won't help much without practice. Just gather like 10-20 UA, get some basic armor and start with ants. Learn to control attack and defense meters, learn how animals behave and when they attack. Learn to use different maneuvers.

Once you feel comfortable with ants, gather some more UA and try foxes. When foxes are piece of cake for you boars should be next.

Yeah, its not hard, but it does kindof require you to understand a little about the combat system. It might be best not to do it in his first week playing i guess... I was debating whether to tell him some tips, but I decided that it would be counterproductive to give him too much information right now.... I'm not sure if I'm right though, you would know better I think.
