Chickens

Hello, I'm wondering when or how often or what the rules are for chicken spawning? :)

They spawn on heath, moor, or grassland fairly frequently. They have a chance to spawn whenever you enter the area and spawn the map. Once there are no players within a map it will despawn anywhere from 2 seconds to 15 minutes later. You can then return there and cause it to spawn a new map in hopes of spawning chickens again. (It is worth noting that a map does not mean what you see on your screen. I don't actually know the parameters for what area is considered one map though!)

They come in groups of (I don't think I've ever seen one spawn alone?) between 4~14, including cocks and chicks.

Thank you for your response. :)

So if I basicly log out then in of the game, would that cause a chance of spawn?

As long as the map despawns in the time you're offline, yes. Same rules apply as if you had walked away from the area.
