I have a bone and a stick to make a bone saw but it doesn't come up in my crafting. What am I doing wrong?

Before crafting a bone saw one must have discovered Bone Material. It is not sufficient to take the bone off the ground or from a container, it must be discovered by butchering a chicken or rabbit yourself, or collecting bones from the skeleton of a larger animal.

You must have firsthand acquired the bone and branch. Most likely the bone you picked out of a container. You need to butcher a rabbit/chicken, or collect the bones off a dead boar firsthand.

I guess that you took the stick (branch) form a tree, but the bone was taken form somebody's container. You have to get a bone by yourself (butcher any animal - rabbit, cock etc) and then you'll be able to craft a bone saw. Wen you butcher any animal and get your discovery, then you'll be able to make bone saws form bones that you find/steal.
