It's worth a golden nugget, Maybe more as you can also study it, I would keep it safe until you know what you want to do with it

Nope, Nothing is safe Just because its on a claim doesn't mean someone with the right skills can knock down your wall and take it for themselves, claim or not.

Currently its unknown how much LP it gives... Maybe some people know.

Make an alt and have the alt hold onto it for you. As long as you leave the alt offline no one can steal it from you. You can ask for a small fortune in useful goods in exchange for it but I'd advise doing trade with more reputable merchants rather than higher bidders. Going rate was ~2 Gold nuggets for 1 Golden egg. Prices will vary but that's a good starting point. Because it is both a valuable curiosity and a gold nugget it is arguably worth more than a gold nugget.
