I think this is actually a really good idea. Would cut down on the onslaught of newb threads lately.

It's not really an onslaught and it's not things that aren't already stickied or posted everywhere. If people aren't going to check available and readily accessible bodies of data, they're not going to check a thread with pages of questions they need to sift through.

I think the idea is more that they could throw their question in the Q&A thread and have it answered there rather than having to create a new one, but I'm not 100%. That was my interpretation. :)

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Also, I wish I hadn't refreshed "How do I?" just now.

As I've stated before, if you don't like looking at the questions, you don't have to read them. The forum has a nice little "friend or foe" feature that lets you ignore posts from users you don't like. If you see the same person making threads that seem annoying to you, just don't open them. However, you might think to yourself "But I might miss some important information if I don't open it." You might. That's the risk you take. I can tell you that very little has changed in the game since the current release back in March of this year. You can probably find it using search.

There isn't one for a reason, even after, what, two to three years now? Even on other boards where there is one, you can almost guarantee that the same questions get asked repeatedly because they become huge and bloated to the point that nobody bothers searching them. It's much easier to manage the conversations of several small threads than it is to try to manage a conversation in one uberthread (just look at the mess the thread for Ender's client is).
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

I threw one up for the sake of throwing one up regardless. Lets see how well or poorly it turns out =)
