Alternative client

Postby abominatum » Fri Sep 23, 2011 1:46 pm

Hello,

I played h&h from february to april and i realy enjoyed it, but what made me stop is that the full screen client i was using (forgot the name) was realy hurting my eyes ,the original client doesn't hurt but has a too small window .

is there some one else who has the same issue ? and what to do to solve it ?

I guess you probably used Ender's Client. But I really don't understand what about it hurts the eyes.

This. Maybe someone else has the same problem. Write up what the issue is and maybe what physical handicap that you have that would cause eye strain and maybe someone can do some usability features. Otherwise Ender's uses the exact same graphics as the default client.

I do understand, when you zoom out the quality lowers drastically. That's what he means.

don't zoom out then and just increase the resolution of your screen

Have to quite agree here, though adjusting screen resolution might not be possible. Many modern LCD monitors have a fixed optimal resolution (if not flat fixed). Setting it to anything other than the optimal resolution can cause eye strain issues, too, due to aliasing.

Is there a way to increase the ingame resolution?

aside from increasing your window size, no. Zooming just scales the tiles/objects which is why they look like ass

Good morning,

Yes it was ender's client, i just tried it again an things are looking fine, i think that the problem i had was caused by the fixator camera mod, i'll stick to the free stile and movethe camera manualy when 'll reach the window limit ,the permanent camera movement is THE hurting thing .

so my new question is:

What camera mode do you use for the long distances trips ?

Edit:

Another thing :shift + let clic is the way the put ressources in the building projet, but if i'm not mistaking, there was a command to put many units of the same kind in one action, a reminder please :D

I just use the camera with the character fixed in center. I have to agree with the camera always bouncing around on its own being nauseating. If I'm not really looking for anything, I'll zoom out and just navigate around the trees/rocks or down a river. It's when you don't have a middle mouse button (such as a notebook) that changing the camera style might be useful.

Shift and scroll wheel over the target container. This takes items off out of the source container in a last in, first out order. Ctrl+scroll to move highest quality first with the same last in, first out order.
