Hearth Magic and Skills

So first off, is Hearth Magic a good skill to have for a character who doesn't move around a whole lot? I have farming and baking as well. Are these good skills for a non-nomadic type? One last thing, I can't find any seeds so I can farm. I've read that I need this certain thing called a willow something, but I can't find them. Thanks for the help!

wild windsown weed, and you need a decent perception*exploration to find them...easier to find an abandonned farm and grab a few seeds from there

as far as hearth magic, if you want lawspeaking its a prerequisite, up to what you're doing

also just noticed, you need hearth magic to build a stake claim since you have to harvest the dream...so its pretty much a required skill

The weeds usually appear in grassland areas and once you get one you can put it on a drying rack for seeds, also if you're alone in the world and you just want a jack of all trades type life, all skills are nice to have
