Q about villages.

Postby nehcnhoj » Sun Sep 25, 2011 10:18 am

Hi, If i'm already a villager of a village, what happens when I make my own village idol (It lets me make one, wondering what happens.) Would it make me leave the village I'm currently in?

Thanks!

no u cant.

u can only be in one village at a time. once u create another and become ls of it, ure not longer ls of u first village or villager of that village.

generally when village build crossroads in various areas which arent bannered under their main village or underground, they will use an alt of another charachter, to build an idol, create crossroad and then destroy the idol after.

this is a nice idea..

how about my other question:

say my alt is a member of my village. so if i use this alt to make an idol in the mines...will this alt no longer be a member of the main village?

and thank you Eemerald..u gave me an insight on that one.

You can only be in 1 village at any time, so when you join a new one/make a new one, you lose ur membership in ur previous village. Village membership are exclusive.

As for the crossroad, without an idol, the crossroad will stop to function so I do not see a reason to build crossroad then destory the idol.

It can still be traveled to without being covered by a village claim, it just cannot be interacted with. This makes it so you don't need to keep a character as a lawspeaker of it. Destroying it also allows you to mine using a character from a different village without needing a large personal claim there for permissions.

A couple things I see that need to be clarified:

Creating a village does not kick you out of your current village. After the 24 hour waiting period, the founders are chosen. You'd only get kicked from your original village if you became one of those founders (you can still make idols while in part of another village, just not join those villages)

You can only be in one village at a given time.

Idols like other authority objects can only be destroyed by village members, or anyone when the village's authority is under 50k. The idol itself has a soak of 5, but I'm going to assume quite a lot of hp ontop of that.

Authority objects (banner and statue) can only be destroyed by a Lawspeaker or Cheiftain as long as they are connected to a village. Once the idol the authority object is connect to is destroyed, anyone can destroy it. The village idol can be destroyed by anyone as stated by Apocalypse, otherwise it's treated just like other authority objects. Yes, much like a hearth fire, they've got a ton of HP.
