Trading

Hi I'm new and have played for about a week. I was looking at the trading forums and wanted to ask what points were seeming as though they are currency and also how are they calculated. Plus can you find them in game and how do exchange them with fellow traders and/or friends.

Points are simply an informal system by which negotiations can occur by assigning value to different items. This world has been running long enough that values are starting to balance somewhat.

A few more notes on trading: most villages require you to have a village claim and/or be able to destroy your own hearth fire (or that of an alt). Trading in an insecure world is dangerous at best and disastrous at the worst. Be aware that you don't discover items you trade for, so you'll need to build a barter stand on your claim in order to use items like metal bars. This is a work around of the discovery system to allow for players to use goods that they acquired through trading. (It might be an intentional mechanic, but players also use this to feed items to alts for discovery.)
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

It's just a way of gauging the worth of certain objects that are up for trade
