Level maps

Is there a map like the world map, but for the underground levels? Just curious...
Thanks!

There is not and there are currently no efforts to compile one.

The only map that would be useful would be the first underground level--the one with the caves. There is no way to reference which caves go where, so making said map would be difficult at best.

There is a mapping function in Enders that lets you save your cave maps and such for later browsing. Great feature, use it often.

I think most people wouldn't be particularly happy if there was a map for the underground =s

Some people aren't happy that there's a world map where others can look for largish settlements to raid. There's just no pleasing some people.

There are pros and cons to both. I kind of liked the world without world maps and auto-mapping better. As Jorb mentioned in his Salem preview, there was a pleasant appeal to being secure through obscurity.

Yes, I quite agree. Of course, that was in regards as much to the size of w3, which was about 3x the surface area of the current world. Of course, so many things are different between now and then it'd be like comparing apples to oranges.

Speaking of "safety through obscurity," I've oft wondered if it'd be viable to create a minehole 3D maze and live at some spot in the middle.
