Questions about caves, not mining related

1: although you can't see them; are there caves on the west and north side of cliffs? Is it worth wasting time bumping into them to see if you can get lucky?

Use Ender's, and then nothing will be hidden from sight (unless you hid it from the interface).

Enders doesn't seem to work for me, in the hiding thing context.

Go to options, set things to be hidden, then toggle hide with ctrl+h

Caves can always be behind trees and no they're not on wall sides that you can't see, I think Jorbtar even stated that at some point, not sure. And yes people can hide cave entrances with things like houses, trees etc. But ctrl +x or h with enders allows you to see them.
