i am perplexed about vaulting your place.

1. how will vaulting be indestructible to rams?
2. whats the concept of how to make a vault. (OR) in a sense. how to make an effective vault?
3. they say. a picture speaks a thousand words..can anyone be nice enough to put a pic here to further give an understanding on my question.

ty to anyone who responds.

1) The idea is to place brickwalls at the edge of water or in areas where a ram cannot be placed. You then leave a 2x2 area open so that a ram can only be built there to prevent being nuked by Jorb.
2) Use swamps, shores, or mountains to reduce the number of walls available to break into your vault. Then use village claims and personal claims to make it more difficult to snoop around or walljump.

my reply to each answered question and a follow-up question on each:

1. SO u must have atleast an open area of 2x2 inside/within ...ok i understand that...but what if not? what if only a 1x2 tile are the only space that is open? why would it be nuked...and BTW, whats that term "nuke".

2. ok no.2 i understand the logistical point there. but ....WALLJUMP...how can u prevent someone walljumping...what will you do to your "within" spaces so u cant be exploited or walljumped>?

3. that is a nice picture..helps me understand more...but what are there so many unfinished structures or buildings behind the idol. why occupying that space..it looks so tight.

thanks for your reply tech. regards

1) The Devs HATE Hearthvaults! They hate them to the point of wiping the area of a hearthvault and killing characters on an account.

Send me a hearth secret in the vicinty, or the account and character name of a character camped in the vicinty, and I will come over and, in short, nuke the place from orbit if a ram cannot be successfully placed.

That's why you leave a 2x2 area for a ram.

2) Essentially they can hop your walls by exploiting Village charter stones outside of your city/village/hermitage/whatever. By having a village claim you make it more difficult for them to have a village claim near you and place a charter stone. By placing unfinished constructions and junk in the way of landing, the charter stone will repath you until it finds a suitable location -- ideally behind your walls.

3) The unfinished signs are to prevent people from landing inside of the vault. It adds more obstacles to prevent landing inside of the vault with a bug jump.

OIC> ok..one more question:

SO, is there any specific number of tiles that u need to put those so called "unfinished signs" from your wall so as not to have a jumper land inside/within your camp/vault?

is...covering 2 tiles from your walls within...and around it...so sufficient enough?

plus. even with all those stuffs as to prevent walljumps and whatever..can it still be possible to ram the walls?

There is no way to be immune to the wall jump. With enough time and dedication someone can jump from one supergrid to another with that trick. The point is to make it as time consuming and futile as possible to discourage it. There's a point where it'll take longer to place all of those signs than it would for the vault dweller to log out, go to sleep, get up, go to work, get home, log on, see the invaders, and seal up the vault completely.

Same concept for the ram port. It's a 2x2 area that is damn near impossible to defend. Even if someone does build a ram there, you'll log in some time in the next 24 hours, see it, and break it.

So while it technically is possible to ram you it's not likely or feasible without a large team of heavily dedicated individuals.
