Generic formulas for weapon dmg.

Postby Mateusz_Zboj » Mon Oct 03, 2011 10:17 am

The things I've been told differ from those I could find on wiki. Also wiki has multiply versions of formulas.
So could you please tell me what are formulas for:
-Punch
-Strangle
-Knock teeth out
-Sting/Strike
-Chop/Cleave ?

Question for you: is what you've been told differ from what you're experiencing in game? What exactly have you been told? Can't tell you if it's right or wrong if you don't tell us.

The formula for weapon damage is correct on the wiki. For each attack, there may be a damage weight to it. Not all have been properly updated in the UI or wiki. Punch, for one, only deals 75% damage. The others deal 100% damage unless there's a damage modifier. (KHTO only other one w/ damage mod at 2x.) Strangle just deals damage based on raw strength.

Which wiki are you using, Mateusz? ringofbrodgar.com or the wikia version? Because the wikia version is outdated and useless.

Ringofbrodgar.
I meant SHP dmg. (Sting/Strike dmg is same for all swords provided you dont mention base damage and quality; same for axes)
And the missinformation is here:
http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Battleaxe ... elfth_Bay->http://pastebin.com/eyj6qqC8-><loftar> The correct one is base-damage * sqrt((q * str) / 10).
http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Combat_Actions->Base Damage of Axe * sqrt( sqrt(q * str) / 10) // Base Damage of Sword * sqrt( sqrt(q * str) / 10)

Scroll down further, he states that he was wrong in that statement.

[20:44:50] <loftar> After having read the code once again, I realize that it is, in fact, base-damage * sqrt(sqrt(q * str) / 10).

Unneeded necro from a month old post. Try to check the date of the last post made on a thread before replying to avoid these issues. Your cooperation is appreciated

Also, Google wouldn't have the weapon formulas.

Google might not have them, but Google indexes all the sites that will have them, namely the forums here, wikia (assuming it has the correct forumla), and the RoB wiki.
