planting trees: tech. question

Postby Persius » Thu Oct 06, 2011 2:38 am

in planting trees. it is ruled that to plant properly, u must plant 5 tiles apart and that nothing must block/stop u from walking around that five tile radius.

now, i have another theory...

what if u plant simultaneously ...say 5 trees just a tile apart....now technically..upon planting..in that area..even tho u have planted them 1 tile apart..during planting...those newly planted trees are still not a blockage or hindrance to walking...so...this tree planting rule that no blockage around 5 tiles is still in effect right?

im just wondering if any of your high enders are also using this practise?

You can plant trees irrelevant to blockage. The trees get "stunted" (halt growth permanently) when an object with a hitbox (anything which you can't walk through essentially) is within a 5x5 square centered around the square. It won't get stunted immediately, but when it hits the transition between 2 stages, if the item is there, it's stunted.

In other words, that doesn't work since the 5x5 hitbox thing matters while the tree is in growth
