Coordinates of the starting place (near Coffeine?)

Postby damian72a » Wed Oct 12, 2011 7:29 pm

Hello dear HnH players!

Forgive me my newbie thread, but I am in need! And a man in need is a man indeed!

I need coordinates of the starting place (stone shiaat). The only thing I can tell you is that there is a stone and the place around is claimed by Coffeine (I don't remember the name exactly, but I am sure you know what's the shiaat).

Could you, dear HnH players, give me coordinates of the starting place, please?

PS I can also tell you that you can teleport to the place via "Adventure -> Travel" (No, this is not a heart fire, it is a stone-something).

First, let me congratulate you on joining.

Second, let me point out that you made the biggest mistake a new player can make: not climbing up the ladder and instead going to one of the charter stones. While some may be decent, they all get enough new players around them to be stripped bare of resources or are surrounded by hostile forces. My best suggestion is to forget the coordinates of where you're at and just keep walking in any direction until you see no signs of human life. Easier will be to just forget about this character and create a new one. It's up to you.

Now that I've said that, do you really still want the coordinates? (Sorry, I don't have them, and nothing has been put together on one of the world maps yet.)

I made an alt and went to a charter stone once, couldn't find a way out of any of them. so its probably best to just forget that character and start a new 1. MagicMan usually gives great answers but I guess he hasn't spawned at a charter stone recently and doesn't know they're all atleast palisaded in(some brickwalled) and are just a place for noobies to get trapped and confused.

I frequently make alts to check out the existing charter stones. I haven't in the last month or so because I just haven't been playing due to the horrendous lag and load times (which has gotten so much better in the last week or two). Most people build charter stones for one of two reasons: to allow lost characters to respawn back at the home village or to use a really nasty exploit that causes wall jumping to raid others. There's been a couple of charter stones in the past that have been newbie friendly, but then you run into the other problem: lack of resources. (I usually just recycle the same alt and drown him when I want to check out new areas.)

The last I looked the Pandemonium charter stone was clear, but that's hardly a noob friendly section of the world. There's a lot of PvP activity in and around it and Pande has claimed most of the nearby surrounding area as their own. I think it took me travelling 20 minutes in a direction (by boat that I salvaged) to just get away from village claims.

Thank you for answering my question. And yes, I still need the coordinates. My character is a bit developed (He's an ancestor of my previous character - he's a bit developed). I'd be glad if anyone gave the coordinates.

I need them cos I have to move to some place (to meet "my" guys). I could create a new character, but... this one is a bit developed and I don't want to waste any time on creating a new alt).

I know this still doesn't really provide a direct answer, but anyone that might have that information isn't talking (yet), so here's a couple of possible solutions.

If the group you're looking to join has a village already, you can join the village using the party system, smash your own hearth fire (if you have one), and then port to the village like you would your hearth fire.

If your other party knows their general coordinates, you can look them up on the map. Make a party with one of them, start travelling their direction by clicking on their party portrait. (Don't use the arrow, it's borked most of the time.) You can then at least get an idea of what obstacles are in your path by drawing a line between where they're at and the direction you're going. With any luck, you'll spot where you actually are on the map.

Since most people don't memorize the coordinates of every city on the map, you may be better off trying to find them yourself. Go to this link: http://www.algeralith.info/HavenMap/. It may take awhile to find yourself, the trick is to look for specific geographical features (ie lake shape, mudflat shape, etc).
