Evil eye or throw sand?

Postby goodyman8 » Fri Oct 21, 2011 10:38 pm

i started learning basic combat lately and was wondering what one of you would do in this situation:
1.you and your opponent both(same stats as you) have low SHP left, your nor his def isnt high enough to block 100% blow and you both got 6IP.
the opponent starts to flex at 40% attack
and you got 20% attack left.
what would you do?
Evil eye or throw sand (if you had to choose one of them)
2. what would you do if you didnt have to choose one of them?
3.(would Throw sand 2* >charge 4*>sting like a bee>punch be a wise move?)
thanks in advance.

Depends on the stance you are in/surroundings/stats. There are a lot of possibilities in this scenario:

You can run around a corner and pop him as he is rounding

You can switch to Oak Stance and flex/slide your ass off

Or #3 sounds like a plan, however i'd switch to combat med and dash rather than charge.

IDK, its not like i'm a pro at pvp or anything :/.... YET

EDIT: But yeah throw sand is pretty useless...

it isnt always useless.

evil eye can only be good with combat med on really, but thats pretty dangerous as it gives the advantage.

I think people underestimated the usefulness of throw sand, You'd be surprised how many people don't even notice you've used it and just stand there, before you know it they're panicking and wasting time. Them few seconds can sometimes be worth it.

But yeah... It really depends on the situation.

I would switch to Oak Stance and use Dash, no way I would risk getting kocked out.

In the situation described in OP I'd valour strike.

Well, i wouldn't throw sand cause you can't throw sand with 20% offense.

i thought it was one of those moves that could be used when you had less left, like dash.

Maybe you're thinking of Slide, which is -D for +O, or Charge!, which is -D for +O and +IP. Dash is +D, +IP with no penalties. Slide and charge both grant partial returns if you are at less than the required amount when the move occurs. I've not done much PvP, so I'm not sure if Throw Sand works the same way. I'd have to take another's word for it. If it worked the same way, you'd need 20 O for each IP drained. (Throw Sand is kinda pointless vs foxes and boars, even deer.) Check it out with your sparring partner and let us know if it is different than what Mr. clark states.
