Yeah, you got killed by a boar or bear. It's called server latency. Just because you didn't see it didn't mean it wasn't there. There's also the issue that this game functions much like a web page. You really don't see anything until the server sends you the graphics for it. If there's any delay in receiving those graphics or in your computer processing them, you'll never see the bear that's about ready to eat your face off.

This is what I fear. My client likes to be super crash happy. Really need to invest in a new PC.

I have HnH client, and i have marked the option to see radius from boars and bears. And there werent ANY of them... maybe it was lag and maybe the client didn't load it..

Yeah, if the client doesn't even know that there is a bear or boar on the scene, then it's not even going to load the circle if you have it turned on. Remember, that's a client side detail, not something the game does.

If the client is being slow to load, take a pause and wait. Better to know what's there than end up dead. You can usually tell because things like the minimap and other things aren't displaying right. If you see moving shadows but no animal, then it's trying to load graphics.

Honestly we are either playing a different game or you guys got a terrible ISP. The lag is not that bad, only hiccups every few minutes or so. Rarely life threatening unless you got 5+ people on one screen, then its almost always life threatening.
