high q ston

hay guys how do i get high q stones i know i need moutains but when i did or chip stone i dont get any higher pls can u help me out

They come in nodes just like everything else. Stone nodes are about as common as clay nodes, except mountain areas are much rarer so there's not as many places to dig for stone. You can also try mining in caves and checking any stones you chip off for quality. Another source: if you have ore, you'll have stones and bars after a smelting run. This can actually the be best source for stones if you find yourself in need of a large supply.

so should i just dig in mountains and i will rarely get high q stone

Search for it like you do clay. If all you get is q10, move on about half a minimap and try again. Sometimes a mountain just doesn't have a quality node on it.
