Prisoned, now what?

Postby Rush3r » Thu Nov 03, 2011 6:06 am

While I may have some knowledge about H&H, I never really experience being trapped like this before..

I tried running threw it, like you could if you're stuck in another person (When leaving or entering a house).
The green glowing HF is probably as you guessed, mine. I returned from 1 day of work to see this beautiful sight. The rest of the area is pretty much covered off, and as I'm not willing to risk any battery scents (Not that I even can break something), breaking fences is no optional choice. Trespassing scents however are a different matter as they can't summon people.

So basically what I am asking, is there another way to go threw this "passage" or am I just going to have to wait for him to destroy my hf and enter a cave which he can't even mine in?

(P.s: While I could take my chances to ask the guy to let me out, I rather not. The Three skeletons just merely 10 - 12 tiles above me don't seem like accidental victims to me.)

hmmmm. if there was a way to destroy your own HF i believe there is an option when you log in to randomly spawn somewhere else in the world. otherwise, your gonna have to wait till he leaves a gate or something open or he destroys your HF.

also you could try to pm a dev, they might move ya, but i really don't know on that though.

and i'm thinking you would need vandalasism, not battery to break the fence.

I doubt devs would intervene in this case (or any case atm). You're pretty much screwed, sorry >.>

They won't.

Your options are talking to the owner of the claim or asking for help from someone else. Without trespassing you won't be able to leave.

Check if that sign has materials already built in. If not, try to scroll the materials into your inventory.

If you don't have to open a gate, teleport to your hearth, and then turn on Criminal Acts. Newb trespassing should be enough to get out of there.

No problem I actually was afraid this would be the case. ;)

You can't unless you have Vandalism (Which I meant when I said, leaving battery scents).

My hearthfire is located in the claimed area, I'm using the Newb trespassing to try to get out.

Anyway, thanks for your replies but I'll just wait and see if a opportunity to escape comes, else I'll just enjoy the view of my jailer's plot development :P
(Btw, I know I should've mentioned this, but he doesn't seem to made a gate "^^. Now I'm starting to believe he is jailing me on purpose.)

It's become common practice to not put a gate in a fence. It only takes a second and a branch to break through your own fence (and then replace the hole), but requires Vandalism instead of just Trespassing for anyone else to do so.

A hearth fire is never, never, never a valid replacement for a claim. A hearth fire in front of a door or cave is just extra protection to force an intruder to leave summonable scents to get to where you don't want them.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Agreed. The only reason I would put my HF in front of a cave would be just for an temporary camp (Which was the case in this one).
