How To survive in this fudged up world(for new beginners)

Yes... welcome to Haven and Hearth. Where people kill and grief and cry because we can't have nice things(seriously, you will understand this later). After reading this guide, you will understand how things work in this fucked up game we call Haven&Hearth.

Village:
Recruitment

1):When one asks for people to join village, one shall request background history on the forums.
Cons: Person that joins village will bring destruction and un wanted attention to your village
Pros: you get a overview of the person's personality.
2) Brick walls
Brick Walls are the only way to protect your village from getting raped. Get a iron mine. It's mandatory. Palisade in the beginning. Brick wall is a must.

3: PERSONAL BRICK WALLED PLOTS
It doesn't have to be big nor small, its a MUST. None really stresses personal plots really. It does the following below
Pros:
-Organized village
-People's own space( don't have to worry about villagers taking your shit)
-Your own production.(cheese, curios,. What ever floats your wagon)
- Your own animals.
-Your own crops
- Makes it hard to completely raid the village.
-Walled off public places.
-walled off idol( you will have to warp there, but its a good idea)

Cons:
Making plots. Its worst then making the village wall :(

4) NEVER MAKE KEYS
Just don't do it... This key stays on an alt. Not even in your LS cupboard. Walking around with keys in your inventory is the worst idea you could ever do in your H&H experience.

5) Always have extra keys to personal plots(goes on a alt).

Make allies
You will need that one village when your getting raided or for trading.

WHAT NOT TO DO
1) Give out your location. Map coordinates. Even when your asking for help. PM someone willing to help you.
2) Live close to a hearth vault(unless it's yours). It's a bad idea.
3) Live by a river
4)By swimming without decent constitution
5) Go up to combat geared people. Just warp home...

That's all I can think of. Anyone can be kind enough to contribute to this thread so new comers can survive this messed up game :D

"Live by a river"

Best advice in the game.

You've forgot the part where you don't go armorless near a villlage.

Also the part where you spot archers quickly.

Great start there. Might want to give a bit more information about what information a typical village wants. People always miss this when making posts in D&T.

Might want to rename it "How to survive an anti-social gankfest of a game" though.

I realize this is written for a village perspective, but might want to mention that even hermits should try to get the resources together for a brick wall, even if it means going out of their way by trading and pestering neighbors. Maybe it'll send out too many "try and raid me" signals, but on the other hand, if everyone has brick walls, who's going to care?

Note on personal brick walled space: should be "harder" as nothing is impossible.

Note on keys: LS/Chieftain should set up xroads when personal plots are set up. Then the only person that needs to have access to the key is the village key alt.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.
