Travel Weariness and Sleep

Postby Mikauu » Mon Nov 07, 2011 4:06 am

Hey everyone, just another newbie here with a question.
How long do you have to sleep for travel weariness to go away. Its just that I'm tanning hides, and the thought of thieves stealing my stuff won't leave my mind.

There are so many things wrong with your post.

Why do you care about travel weariness? If you're worried about thieves then you likely don't have a wall/village which means you've got no reason to worry about travel weariness (you'll always be able to travel to your hearth no matter how tired you are).

Also, if you're tanning leather then why are you logging out? In order for tanning to complete the map needs to stay loaded for ~15 minutes.

Until you have a village idol travel weariness does not do anything so don't worry about it.

That out of the way, it depends on the kind of bed and the quality of the bed, a Q90 sturdy bed will lower it much faster then a Q5 spruce bed.

Also so you know most people drink wine or smoke to lower travel weariness, it works better and faster.

Thanks for all the tips, but come on man, this is my third day playing, cut me some slack :P

For reference, if you want to tan leather you'll have to fill your tanning tubs up and then place them in a boat/cart/leanto and take them out for them to work. If you put a full tanning tub in and then remove it it should jump to 92% complete, at which point you'll have to watch the tanning for another 15-20 minutes until it hits 100%.

If this is your third day playing then you probably don't know the Tanning Tub trick.

Put the hide you want tanned into the Tanning Tub, making sure it has enough water and bark to tan properly. Place the tub in a container such as a boat, wagon, or cart. Remove the tub and place it back down on the ground. Upon examining the contents your tanning process will have jumped to about 95% complete.

This is a much easier way to get leather, so you might want to build several tanning tubs.

Also, regarding your concern about travel weariness: Teleporting back to your hearth fire increases your travel weariness but it does not affect your ability to teleport to your hearth fire. You can have 100% travel weariness and still teleport back to your hearth fire. It mainly affects your ability to teleport to a village idol or using crossroads.

Edit: Darn, Cobaltjones beat me to the post.

I don't know about saving your life. Time, perhaps. Unless you were planning on killing yourself because of the wait for leather.
