Question about brick walls and gates

Postby 1John5vs7 » Mon Dec 05, 2011 10:56 pm

Dear H&H community,

I am a relatively new player (been playing about 6 weeks) and my village is building a brick wall. We have one cornerpost that is set, and I'm very worried about griefers coming and trying to wall us in. We do have a battering ram, so it wouldn't be the end of the world if they did, but I'd like to go ahead and cap the cornerpost after building any wall(s) off it I need to. My question is this:

Can you build a gate on a capped cornerpost?

In other words, I have 2 posts: POST BLANK BLANK POST.

Post #1 is dried. Post #2 is not yet completed. I want to go ahead and cap post #1 but am concerned this will prevent me from building a gate off of post #2. From my experience, it seems that you can just right click the one that is NOT yet capped and build the gate off of that, but I don't want to take a risk with something as resource intensive as a brick wall!!!!!!!!!

Any advice/experience you have would be appreciated.

Many thanks,

David

If one post is set on a palisade you can build a gate from the other one, (obviously if both are set you cant build anything).

I dont see it being different fro brick walls although I dont know conclusively

Go ahead and seal the first cornerpost once you're done building off of it. As long as the second cornerpost is unsealed, you can build your gate.
