Can't login from a hotspot

Hi,

I'd like to play H&H away from home but I'm using a wifi hotspot at the university campus and I can't connect to the servers. Ports are surely blocked and they won't open they them. Is there any way to bypass this problem or am I doomed ?

Yep Port forwarding is not possible, I'm not the admin. And they don't want to open up ports, which is understandable but sad.

So no other options?

Can you do things like remote desktop, etc?

I've thought about it but not tried it yet. To be sure, do you mean running the game on my desktop at home, connecting to my desktop with my laptop at the uni and if it works, just control my desktop and play the game?

I should try it, just have to set everything up and find a port that is not blocked for the remote desktop.

If it's not what you thought about, please develop :p

No, that's exactly what I'm talking about. It might be too laggy for a stable connection to a game. There's some other options out there to try, too, if you want to try and hack a connection together.

well, you definitely have some ports open, like 80 for web browsing etc. Port forwarding is a magic spell that enables you to send traffic, which would normally go on other ports, like 1870 udp and 1871 tcp which haven uses, to go through other ports, like the forementioned port 80.
