4wk holiday

Postby Amanda44 » Thu Dec 08, 2011 12:08 pm

I have to go away for 4 wks over xmas, i'm a hermit with a village and am slightly concerned about the authority.
What can i expect on my return with regard to authority - and i assume all crops will b dead? What r good curio's to take ages? :)

Village size is 17673m

omg! just realised chickens as well, coops r full of food, if i keep say four of best chicks in each, will they survive?
Ooops, the cock, where am i gonna put him?

I've only got two days left, this is a nightmare!

Off-line for couple of hrs now so will answer any replies later, not being rude and ignoring you.

Your authority will likely be 0 if not destroyed by someone else. Your cattle will have starved, this includes your chickens. Your crops will be fine and all fully grown. Shewbread is pretty good.

Shrewbread is a good curio that takes a lot of time. Your crops won't be dead when you return, but your animals might be. You might want to fill them up with food, and kill off all but the very best few. That way they will eat less and be more likely to survive. I'm not sure if a single chicken in a coop full of food would last 4 weeks though. If you can, separate your chicken from the rooster to keep chicks from hatching.

Your authority will probably run out in four weeks. Make sure your idol is behind a brick wall, or you will probably come back to a village that doesn't belong to you (that will probably happen anyway.)

You might want to just give some storage alts some of your best seeds and equipment, and be prepared to have to find a new home when you return.

Teckx, I don't think she mentioned cows. Non-pregnant cows can actually be kept alive for quite a while, since they can feed from multiple troughs. Chickens are limited by coop capacity.

Thx guys, not really what i wanted to hear re authority :( but not much can be done about it.

Idol is bricked in, will seperate cock from hens and keep best four, its such a shame, their q has gone up nicely.
Haven't got cows, was gonna get some on return since only just recently made village bigger but maybe no village to come back to - gutted

Good idea re storage alts, will definately do that.

Off to make shrewbread :) hope to see u in 4 wks

easier to keep cows alive while you're gone than chickens even without multiple troughs, you can plant grass where they are and they'll graze...but yea 4 weeks away is going to be rough. probably not the best way to do this but if you have multiple coops put best rooster in 1 best hen in the other and try to log in atleast once during your trip to reload food.

if your idol is bricked you might get lucky and still have it if you're in a slightly less active area. if you're able to log in for a few minutes to reload curios about once a week while you're gone you should be able to keep authority up pretty well. shewbread as mentioned(10k base lp) has a long study time, others you might also use for such a trip would be bronze steed, auroch's hair, webs, and tiny abacus. good luck!

thx ImAwesome,

problem is i'm visiting parents on other side of the world and doubt dad has java or even knows what it is lol and i'm rubbish at anything other than games and know nothing about installing stuff etc so wouldn't know how to set it all up on his pc.
I have friend in rl who did it all for me and takes care of any pc problems i have but he won't have access while i'm away.

However, i also have friend who will be here from time to time and trying desperately to persuade them to log on and feed chicks and me curio's but they r not keen and don't see it as being important, so probably won't even if agree lol

If worst comes to worst i'll be gutted but i'll start again - not getting rid of me that easily :D

Send him this link and see if he can be able to successfully install it.

maybe this one first: http://java.com/en/download/installed.jsp

this will determine if java is installed or not.
